Paleo Diet First Week

Okay I am going to start blogging about my new paleo diet adventure!  I'm going to try and post once a week about it if not more.  Feeling great and have lots of energy.  I am not completely following the diet and am allowing myself to still have milk with cereal in the morning.  Right now that happens to be honey bunches of oats with almonds.  I am also eating string cheese at lunch which I also know is not paleo diet compliant.  And oh gosh darn it I am eating protein bars/paydays for a midmorning snack.  So it is not completely complaint...everything in moderation I believe.

But otherwise I am doing well.  I am eating salad for lunch with smoked turkey and I am eating good healthy dinners as well.  I am NOT at all tempted by carbs or sugar and have 0 cravings this week so far for them.  Pretty awesome I must say!

There are actually tempting things in my kitchen right now that I bought earlier and that I have no desire to eat at all.  No more oatmeal cookies...you know the ones by Little Debbie, that have the cream in the middle!  No more sugar cookies that tasted like crap anyways and no more freaking honey buns which God knows what was doing to my arteries and my obese weight.

Yes I am already obese.  I weight around 190.  I've gained 30 lbs in 5 years from a difficult divorce and loss of custody of my two beautiful daughters.  This has allowed for emotional eating and I am going to nick that in the bud as well this month and longer!  I am going to have stuffing on Thanksgiving though.  Sometimes you have to draw the line somewhere.  I mean I am not completely crazy.  Tomorrow I am also going to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because I am going trick or treating with my children and that is a fast fix.  Hey I'm far from perfect and am definitely not going to try to be.  I cannot do something 100%.  I totally believe in moderation.

If anybody gets this far and is reading this.  Thanks I appreciate it.

Oh and Happy Halloween!  I may be tempted by some candy but as long as the kids don't force it down me I am fine.  LOL I think they will want it for themselves.  Just have that feeling.  :)
